Proactive Pursuit of Entertainment Content Pirates (+AUDIO)

Proactive Pursuit of Entertainment Content Pirates -AUDIO- IPPIBlog.com

In a June 13, 2017, Variety article, written by TODD SPANGLER, it publicized the creation of a coalition of entertainment organizations whose mission is to pursue content pirates (Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment.) The establishment of this coalition highlights the industry’s recognition of the magnitude of the problem, and the essential need to proactively pursue these infringers.

The article cites an anti-piracy technology source which estimated that in 2016 worldwide internet users visited streaming piracy sites 107.9 billion times, and torrent-based sites 34.2 billion times.

These estimates are staggering, and emphasize the critical need to actively track the infringers through coordination with private and public anti-piracy resources, in order to bring significant legal liability to bear on the infringers.
