My name is Ron Alvarez. I’m a former NYPD lieutenant; licensed private investigator, and freelance writer. My primary purpose in starting this blog is to raise awareness about the magnitude of the global Intellectual Property (IP) theft and misappropriation problem, and present information that will help investigators, and IP protection specialists, to more effectively combat it.
My hope is that this blog will help to create better informed IP investigators and protection specialists, as well as to encourage all law-enforcement and private investigators to take more of an interest in this Global epidemic that is costing billions, putting lives at risk, and infringing upon the spirit of innovation and creativity.
The first step in effectively dealing with the IP crime problem is to have a better understanding of its immensity, global influence, and distressing impact.
In my next post, I will attach a white paper excerpt I recently wrote that serves to provide an overall view of this global challenge, and the recognition that government, and the private sector, must work hand-in-hand to combat it.
