Ron Alvarez is an IP investigations and protection consultant and writer in New York City. He is a former NYPD lieutenant where he investigated robbery, narcotics, internal affairs, and fine art theft cases.   3. When conducting an investigation remotely, it is important to understand the limitations of this method of gathering evidence. To avoid missed opportunities or mistakes in your investigation, it’s best to follow these guidelines:

    – Make sure all participants are comfortable with video conferencing or other forms of communication before beginning the investigation. This will help ensure that participants feel safe and secure throughout the process. If a participant feels uncomfortable at any point during an investigation, they should feel free to end the call or stop providing information immediately.
